The City of Reading is fortunate to be surrounded by several
natural treasures including; Neversink Mountain, Mount Penn, and
the Schuylkill River. The Berks County Conservancy has invested
much time and resources over the past fifteen years
to ensure that the 900-acre Neversink Mountain remains as open
space for the benefit of the city residents and general public
that visit the mountain. As a result, we own nearly 500-acres of
Neversink that connects trails from one end of the mountain to
the other. Neversink Mountain is hugged on the
south by the Schuylkill River and to the north by the City of
Reading. This provides breathtaking vistas for your enjoyment,
most popular are the City Overlook and the Witches Hat (McIlvain
Pavilion).
